As more and more people and organisations switch to circular products made from waste, TRIBOO grows.

As more and more people and organisations switch to circular products made from waste, TRIBOO grows. To facilitate this growth, TRIBOO expands its organisation with a talented sustainable doer with a passion for circularity, Martijn Meijer. With over 20 years of experience in designing offices, the team is strengthened by a professional who loves nothing more than to support and advise people in organisations with circular housing and design issues. Martijn always goes for win-win and is a creative connector.

AS A CHILD HE WAS ENTERPRISING AND CURIOUS

Always busy, discovering the world and getting to know people. During his time at secondary school in Deventer, he was always busy with various jobs in addition to his school activities. On the golf course, delivering pizzas and even once a week at the back of a rubbish truck. It was good money and he was outdoors. He could not have imagined then that, more than 34 years later, he would be working with waste again.

3 YEARS LOOKING BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE REAL ESTATE WORLD

After secondary school, he moved to Amsterdam to study Real Estate and Brokerage. During his studies, he was able to work at an Amsterdam estate agency where he spent more than three years looking around in the real estate world. It was an instructive and fascinating period where he first came into contact with the interior design of real estate and the value that a good interior design adds to the building and its users.

MY LOVE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

With his love of architecture and design and his curiosity about people, the next step in his career was a logical one. He was given the opportunity to work for Gispen. For more than 20 years, he worked in various positions at this office and project furnishing company. During the many beautiful assignments he had the privilege to do, he quickly understood that a good interior design of a building should be a translation of the identity of the people who work or stay there.

I WAS INSPIRED BY ELLEN MACARTHUR AND ENDED UP AT TRIBOO

After meeting Ellen MacArthur* at the Green Challenge in 2017, he has become even more aware of the need to treat our planet differently.

He became so inspired about circularity that it also became his personal mission. Sustainable Design & Project design and the creation of circular partnerships and business models became his new line of work. And so, two years ago, during a quest for the best in circular innovation, he came into contact with Marc van der Heijden of Triboo. He was immediately infected by his drive, energy and passion for circularity. If he ever made a career switch....

And that is why he is proud and happy to connect his experience and knowledge to the mission of TRIBOO. From now on, Martijn will help build the success of TRIBOO and contribute to even more positive impact on society.
