A 19 mm #GREENGRIDZ desktop uses 60% less material than a solid chipboard or plywood desktop. With a 100 mm desktop, only 10 % of solids are used in the lightweight construction compared to conventional solid boards. With #GREENGRIDZ, depending on the thickness of the panel, between 60 and 90% less raw material is extracted from Mother Earth. The material is simply not needed anymore to make a strong lightweight furniture construction. This avoids the use of materials. It doesn't get more sustainable and circular than that!

The #GREENGRIDZ furniture panel is the replacement for the solid non-reusable furniture panel. This innovative basic material is made in the Netherlands from waste streams. The panel can be made up of different types of waste, and therefore raw materials. The source is cellulose fibres from cardboard, old clothes, milk cartons, straw, hemp and waste wood, among others. These raw materials are bonded under temperature and pressure to form strong panels. No toxic binders or other harmful substances are added. These boards are pressed into a strong and lightweight furniture panel that is versatile in use. We make them into desk tops, tables, cabinets, walls, doors, kitchens, pantries, acoustic panels and much more.
Since a load of #GREENGRIDZ panels weighs less, the truck's engine has to work less. As a result, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are significantly lower compared to a load of traditional solid furniture panels. #GREENGRIDZ is made in the Netherlands. This way, we always produce close to our customers, minimising CO2 emissions and environmental impact compared to panels shipped from far away.
In the Netherlands, the maximum weight of a truck including cargo is set at 40,000 kg. In practice, this means that trailers with solid board materials can only be half-loaded. As a result, the load factor is only 50% of the total volume that can be transported. With #GREENGRIDZ, trailers can be loaded to 100% due to their light weight, which in turn saves kilometres and CO2. The weight per m2 of a 38 mm furniture panel is approximately 18 kg for plywood, 25 kg for chipboard and 8 kg for #GREENGRIDZ.
