NATIONAL NEDERLANDEN OPTS FOR CIRCULAR PRODUCTS TRIBOO

A place where every employee feels good. We think that this way of circular furnishing brings a smile to people's faces.

NN Workspace 2020 is the project to transform the housing of Nationale Nederlanden into a place where excellent service is provided to customers and where employees work together on the future of the company. A working environment created to make every employee feel good. The project involves a total of approximately 50,000 m2 and is being carried out in the iconic buildings Delftse Poort in Rotterdam and Haagse Poort in The Hague.

THE MOST AMBITIOUS PROJECT TO DATE

The driving forces behind this ambitious project are Pieter Lems and Peter Jansen, both of whom work within Facility Management at Nationale Nederlanden. Pieter is Portfolio Manager Innovation and Peter is Portfolio Manager Workspace.

For five years now, they have been working together with great pleasure on the development of the working environment, coming up with ever new insights and more challenging ambitions. Together with representatives from Nationale Nederlanden, a structured approach was followed in which a lot of information was gathered and sessions were held with employees of Nationale Nederlanden. From this, starting points and objectives were established for an "activity-based" working environment (Workspace 2020). Our most ambitious project to date within NN.

THE PRESTIGIOUS AMBITIONS OF NN WORKSPACE 2020

In order to achieve success, it formulated a number of ambitions. Facilitate and accelerate the agile way of working. Stimulating communication and cooperation. A healthy and sustainable environment for everyone, with extra attention to digital applications. Attracting and retaining talent.

100% CIRCULAR - 0% WASTE AND THE LOWEST POSSIBLE "SHADOW PRICE"

When we zoom in on healthy and sustainable as two key elements in the ambitions to create the healthiest possible environment, Well has been adopted as a tool and has been deployed to the highest possible certification, PLATINUM. This gives us support and tooling to realise the best possible result.

With regard to sustainability, the following goals have been set: 100% circular, 0% waste and the lowest possible "shadow price" or environmental cost indication. From an intrinsic motivation, Pieter and Peter think it is important that they take responsibility as a facilities organisation with such a large project ahead of them (almost 50,000 m2). This also fits in with the values that we use at NN as Care and Commit. These stand for acting with respect for each other and for the world we live in. In this, we do business with an eye to the future.

THE PROJECT IS NOT TRADITIONALLY ORGANISED

The project was therefore not organised traditionally. From the initial phase to the final design, they even worked with various potential suppliers in order to arrive at a design that was as circular as possible and to make as much use as possible of various ideas on the market. Pieter and Peter also wanted to ensure that once the project was completed, they could substantiate the results they had achieved. During the project, they worked with a decision-making matrix in which the aforementioned objectives were given considerable weight.

IT IS VERY INTERESTING AND FUN TO WORK WITH TRIBOO

Pieter and Peter find it very interesting and fun to work with TRIBOO. They deliver products that completely fit in with those circular objectives. They take us along in the development and knowledge of materials, binding techniques and modular constructions made on Dutch soil. They simply show us what it is made of and that appeals. In addition, they also help us tell "the circular story".

WE THINK THAT THIS WAY OF CIRCULAR FURNISHING BRINGS A SMILE TO PEOPLE'S FACES

Pieter and Peter would like to be able to show the NN employees that this project has been realised in a completely circular way. And when they add "new" products, these are made from 3D printed recycled waste! An old discarded refrigerator that has been turned into a fantastic conference table, old chocolate moulds that serve as the raw material for high-profile lamps. TRIBOO even has a surprise up its sleeve for the NN meeting places when it comes to their own waste, but they can't reveal it yet. Apart from NN giving a serious subject the appropriate attention and making circular economy visible in the interior, Pieter and Peter think that the fun and appealing way they are doing this together with TRIBOO will bring a smile to people's faces. This brings them full circle and they create a healthy and sustainable environment where people feel good.

TOGETHER WE MAKE THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND WASTE-FREE SOCIETY VISIBLE IN THE INTERIOR
