TRIBOO AND ELECTROLUX COLLABORATE ON THE NEVERENDING KITCHEN

On June 11, Electrolux and TRIBOO officially entered into a cooperation with each other. Together they will set objectives in the field of circularity. They want to reduce waste, avoid wasting raw materials, reduce CO2 emissions and make the circular economy a reality.

Electrolux absolute world player in sustainable production

Electrolux is a Swedish company and one of the world's largest manufacturers of household appliances. Products are sold under various brand names, including Electrolux's own name and in the Netherlands mainly AEG and Zanussi. Electrolux is an absolute world player in the field of sustainability. For the twelfth time in a row, they are the market leader in the Consumer Durables category of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. In addition, they are the only manufacturer of sustainable consumer goods to be recognised with the RobecoSAM Gold Class award in 2019.

TRIBOO and the world's first circular kitchen: the NeverEnding Kitchen

TRIBOO ensures that raw materials never go to waste. In everything they do, they build on harmony between man and nature. They do this by taking responsibility. They set revolutionary innovations in motion to make maximum impact. They turn worthless waste into healthy and circular products. Two years ago during Dutch Design Week, they introduced the prototype of the first circular kitchen to the world. Made from the packaging materials of new kitchens. The next year, the production kitchen followed and now they are ready for the next phase, upscaling.

NeverEnding Kitchen for a lifetime of cooking pleasure

This disposable society is unsustainable. At a time when we are thinking more about raw materials, health and the environment, we are looking for solutions. TRIBOO has therefore come up with a sustainable alternative for the kitchen: the NeverEnding Kitchen. The NeverEnding Kitchen guarantees a kitchen for life. The company offers a kitchen that changes with the customer's wishes. Thanks to its modular structure, every component can be easily disconnected and replaced. The arrangement and appearance can be changed at any time. Kitchens as storage places for raw materials. When the kitchen needs to be replaced, it is taken back and a new circular kitchen is made from the raw material of the old kitchen. So the kitchen never turns into waste again. With the purchase of a NeverEnding Kitchen, the waste of raw materials stops and the owner starts investing in healthy and reusable materials. The kitchen is a valuable storehouse, and when the raw material value increases, the buyer benefits too. So kitchens and the joy of cooking are NeverEnding.

Taking steps together towards a circular economy and a waste-free society

Electrolux has studied how consumers can live more sustainably and has developed the Better Living Program. This sustainability strategy aims to make Electrolux climate neutral within 10 years. In addition, Electrolux aims to become a circular company by 2030, according to Mario Spaans - Key Account Manager Projects, Electrolux. There are still many steps to be taken. By cooperating with TRIBOO we make a big step forward. Marc van der Heijden - Director of TRIBOO, says he is looking forward to the challenges related to ownership, accountability, valorisation of raw materials, circular business models and logistic return flows, to name but a few. To achieve something big you have to start by doing something small, says van der Heijden.
