TRIBOO DEVELOPS HEALTHY AND CIRCULAR #GREENGRIDZ DESK AND TABLE TOPS TOGETHER WITH ECOR AND NIAGA

For over 6 years, ECOR and TRIBOO have been working together to let healthy and reusable materials find their way into offices in the Netherlands. In 2017, at the RIBW Brabant in Tilburg, a complete office was furnished by TRIBOO for the first time in the Netherlands with furniture, walls and kitchens made from reusable waste fibres. The collaboration is expanding with NIAGA, producer of a detachable adhesive. At Dutch Desing Week 2019, the three parties will officially announce their collaboration and prove that circular furniture can be made from sustainable, high-quality furniture panels. Panels that are made without toxic ingredients and all materials can be reclaimed so they can be reused.

MADE OF CELLULOSE WASTE FROM OLD MILK CARTONS

#GREENGRIDZ ECOR is made of cellulose waste streams from old milk cartons.

DESKTOP #GREENGRIDZ ECOR STORAGE MODULE FOR CO2 AND HEALTHY NATURAL FIBRES

The patented GRID combined with ECOR's material technology creates a circular, lightweight desk or table top with the lowest CO2 emissions in the market. It contains no harmful toxic substances such as added FORMALDEHYDE. It requires less raw materials, is biodegradable and is made in the Netherlands.

THE SAME CELLULOSE RAW MATERIAL CHANGES OVER AND OVER AGAIN INTO A DIFFERENT CIRCULAR PRODUCT

TRIBOO functions as a bank that temporarily lends its valuable resources to organisations in the form of furniture. When the customer, due to changes in organisation or market, has to function differently and needs different furniture to facilitate this, TRIBOO gets the furniture back. For the new demand they develop and produce from the same raw material other circular furniture. A desktop can be transformed into a kitchen, a wall, a flower box or into a desktop again. With a design based on the identity of the organisation.

ECOR

ECOR is a sustainable, 100% recycled material made from local waste streams. Natural fibres such as old paper, textiles and miscanthus are converted into a high-quality raw material. The material is versatile, biobased, non-toxic and fully recyclable. The material is multifunctional, strong, lightweight and can be shaped in many ways.

The raw material for ECOR consists of biomass instead of fossil raw materials. The biomass comes from crops that grow on land or in the sea. Residual flows from forestry, agriculture and recycled urban waste. This gives ECOR two important advantages over fossil raw materials. Firstly, it can be converted into another product with maximum retention of the high quality of the raw material and minimal production of waste. Secondly, biomass is CO2 neutral because of its short carbon cycle. ECOR is 100% non-toxic, completely cradle to cradle (certified) and formaldehyde-free.

ECOR is made of water and natural fibres using heat and pressure. No adhesives are used in the production process and 99% of the water used is recycled. The process is CO2 neutral. The production of, for example, office furnishings based on this sustainable material is clean and simple. The material can be cut with a laser and processed with tools. The production generates no waste. Sawdust goes back to the ECOR factory.
