AEB Amsterdam gives old planters from Nationale Nederlanden a new life as meeting tables at its office.

Hundreds of planters were no longer needed at the offices of Nationale Nederlanden in The Hague and Rotterdam. Instead of throwing all the valuable raw materials into the container to be burned as waste, NN came up with the perfect circular solution in the Workspace2020 project, together with TRIBOO. The raw materials will return to the office, not as plant pots but as high-profile circular meeting tables.

RAW MATERIALS ARE READY TO BE REUSED BY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

Some of these valuable resources found their way back to NN's renovated office, the other part has been made available to other organizations. Recently, one of these tables felt at home at AEB Amsterdam. AEB is an Amsterdam waste management company whose mission is to make energy from waste as sustainably and cleanly as possible. They do this by extracting as much (re)usable material from the waste as possible. What remains of unusable residual waste they burn in the most sustainable way possible and convert this into heat and electricity for the city.

CIRCULAR CONFERENCE TABLE FROM TRIBOO PERFECTLY ALIGNS WITH AEB AMSTERDAM'S MISSION

We chose TRIBOO's circular conference table because this product fits perfectly with AEB Amsterdam's mission. The furniture is made from waste and put together with a lot of creativity, love and engineering. In addition, we love NN's idea to reuse 4 former planters and place them in this new form at our office. A next step for us with TRIBOO is to look at the plastics that are extracted from waste streams after which beautiful design furniture can be made through 3D printing. We are very satisfied with TRIBOO's professional service and with our circular meeting table in the boardroom made from 4 old planters.
